Candy is the child’s first drug. Bright wrappers, sugar rush, dopamine hit. You don’t think of it as poison because it’s normalized in the lunchbox, in the holidays, at every checkout line. But it trains the nervous system—spike, crash, crave, repeat. That’s the same cycle cocaine, heroin, or pills work on.

Think about it—kids will run errands, do chores, even fight each other just to get a piece of candy. That’s crackhead shit. The seeds of dependency are planted early, dressed up as harmless fun.
Drugs are just the adult-level candy. Stronger chemicals, deeper hooks, but the same architecture. Candy teaches you to equate sweetness with happiness, escape with stimulation. By the time you hit adulthood, your body already knows the program. Coffee, liquor, nicotine—same treadmill, just different branding.
Both candy and drugs are industrial products. They’re manufactured addictions. Not nourishment, not healing—just chemical hooks packaged for profit. The difference is the image: candy gets cartoons, drugs get mugshots. But the system behind them is the same. Corporations feed the kids, cartels and pharmas feed the adults. The loop is uninterrupted.
The trap is thinking one is innocent and the other is evil. Nah—they’re parallel pipelines into dependency. Both designed to hijack the human body’s natural relationship with sweetness, energy, and altered states.
Raw truth: candy is the soft dealer. Drugs are the hard dealer. Both sell you a high while robbing you of balance.
